We are working on objectives to manage the GROWTH we are experiencing in our community. We are making progress and intend to make a difference – but we can only do so with the assistance and commitment of a broad spectrum of citizen participants.
Three identified objectives to work on are the following:
- Work with the Montrose City Council and the County Commissioners to achieve Intergovernmental Agreements that set specific development standards within the Urban Growth Boundary (i.e. 3 mile radius from town).
- Convince the County Commissioners to limit the number of new subdivision applications the County will accept with the aim of providing the Planning Commission and/or the County Commissioners the time they need to: (a) accept the Master Plan, and; (b) strengthen the Zoning regulations.
- Persuade the County Commissioners to accept the Master Plan as the guiding document and put it to use by November 1, 2006.
UVA (Uncompahgre Valley Association) is taking the leadership role in planning & organizing meetings to work on methods to manage growth. We need YOU to participate if we want change.
